I love little “get-to-know me” posts! I think it’s so fun to get to know people and I think this is a lighter topic since my previous posts have been a little heavier! Also, who knows, maybe this will give me another topic to discuss.
- My favorite month is May.
May was the last real month of school when all of the fun field trips and dances would happen. It was also when the warm weather finally stuck around (Which I’m still waiting for). Other than that, I would probably say December because I love the holiday spirit!
2. I have three dogs!
I have always had a dog. I grew up with a BIG rottweiler who was sweet as could be. He was around before I was born. Before he passed, I got my cockapoo. Then, I got my boxer a few years later. Finally, my boyfriend and I adopted our youngest dog together. I wrote about that a while ago. I think I’m known as the dog person in my family. You can see them on my Instagram page @afewpups.
3. I love reading!
I definitely don’t read nearly as much as I want to, which is disappointing. I keep telling myself I’ll read more, so I really need to. My favorite series is by Jenny Han who you might know from “To All the Boy I’ve Loved Before” but I knew her before that from ” The Summer I Turned Pretty” which has two more books in its series and to this day they’re my favorites. I also love the book “All the Bright Places” but I’m pretty sure I wrote about them in another blog.
4. I’m the youngest of six!
I could not explain my family tree in a blog. It sounds too confusing. But, I’m the youngest by six years. There are perks and also downsides. Based on a Buzz Feed quiz, I’m obviously the youngest. I hint on some of the downsides in some of my more recent blogs, but I think it might be fun to talk about my giant family because I love having a big family.
5. I used to play the violin.
I wanted to start in 4th grade but I started in 5th grade and didn’t enjoy it. I continued in middle school and loved it. In freshman year I decided to drop it because we were told we should take private lessons and it sounded more serious than I was about it. I had fun with it with my friends. I ended up coming back the next year and I struggled so bad. I couldn’t read the notes fast enough or more my fingers fast enough. I ended up just showing up to class and trying to play but not sweating it. I intentionally sat in the back and sometimes I would just talk to my friend instead of playing. I gave up trying and I just had fun with it if I could. I think my teacher understood that. He was really awesome and gave really cool life lessons. I haven’t played it sense.
6. I love The Office.
I didn’t watch it for SO long. I saw it when I was little when it was on TV and a newer show. So, I remembered Jim and Dwight and Michael. Then, I finally watched it when I started college and I loved it. I don’t usually re-watch series so I moved on. Then I revisited it last spring and it has been on repeat ever since. I wish I could watch it again for the first time. I read something about how people with anxiety tend to re-watch a TV series because it soothes them. For me, it’s because it’s always a happy show, it’s never sad. It makes me laugh, and because I’ve seen it so many times, it plays in the background for noise. It also preoccupies my mind when I’m anxious and calms my anxiety. If you google it, you’ll find some articles about people with anxiety watching the same shows over and over again. Also, on the Office Ladies, they revealed that they get a lot of messages about The Office being a calming show for people going through hard times.
7. I’m a Pisces.
I’m not really into astrology. I also have no idea what time I was born, so I can’t even use those astrology apps. I think astrology is cool, but a lot of the stuff is SO vague that of course it’s accurate. If someone wanted to talk about it, I wouldn’t be against it. It’s definitely intriguing.
I want to find out what my enneagram number is. I also love a personality tests, I took this really detailed one and it said I was part of 1% of the population. I don’t remember what it was, but I’ll find it for you guys on my next Get To Know Me blog! (As long as I remember.)
Sorry for my lack of posts and the delays. I’m addicted to Animal Crossing currently and my job has picked up.
Stay positive 🙂
